Prison Break Star Accepts Responsibility

“Prison Break” Star, Lane Garrison, 26, has accepted responsibility for his involvement in a tragic car accident last year.  On December 2, 2006, approximately 11:50pm, Beverly Hills, Garrison left a party to buy alcohol when he crashed his car into a tree.  Subsequently, two 15-year-old female passengers were injured and a 17-year-old boy was killed.  A blood test revealed that Garrison’s blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit.  Cocaine was also identified in his system.

Garrison is currently charged with felony vehicular manslaughter while under the influence, felony under the influence while causing injury to several victims, felony driving above the legal alcohol level, and a misdemeanor count of supplying alcohol to minors.  He is currently free on $100k bail.  If Garrison is found guilty, he could face about 7 years in prison.  Garrison plans to plead guilty to some charges. He is scheduled to show up for court April 11.

Mega Millions Frenzy

As hopefuls rush to buy lottery tickets to the Mega Millions, the stakes are set at a whopping estimated $370 million!  That’s more money than what most people know what to do with.  I wonder whether ticket buyers realize that their odds of winning the lottery are about 1 in 176 million.  That basically translates to….”I have a better chance of landing on Pluto with Michael Jackson, as we sip on Dom Pérignon together.” But for that one insanely lucky winner, he or she has the option to either take the annuity payment between $355 million to $370 million, or the lump sum cash payment of $221.1 million gross.

Due to the mad frenzy caused by the publicity and prize, the 12 participating states (California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia, and Washington state) have decided to relocate tonight’s drawing from Atlanta to Times Square in New York.

Fans Greet the King of Pop in Tokyo

After a public appearance last year in Tokyo to accept an MTV Japan award, the King of Pop is back in Japan to host an exclusive party.  Wearing his trademark sunglasses and black leather jacket, MJ was enthusiastically greeted by fanatic fans yesterday afternoon at Narita Aiport.  Many devotees welcomed Jackson with signs that read “We love Michael” and “Welcome to Japan.”

At the exclusive party MJ is hosting, guests pay $3,500 for VIP tickets that buy them 30 seconds to one minute private time with the King of Pop.  For fans who cannot afford the VIP ticket, MJ is hosting a fan art contest.  Dedicated fans will exhibit their fan art works of Jackson to MJ himself.  The top three winners of the competition will lunch with the pop star and have their pictures taken with him.

Smith’s Burial to Take Place in the Bahamas

After an intense battle to the custody of Anna Nicole Smith’s body, a Florida appeals court finally made the decision to hand over the rights to 5-month-old baby Dannielynn’s court-appointed representative.  Smith, 39, will be buried in the Bahamas next to her son, Daniel, who died at the young age of 20.  Smith’s mother, Virgie Arthur, opposed the request for Anna to be buried in the Bahamas; she wanted the body to be buried in Texas, where Anna was born and raised.  However, Virgie has chosen not to make an appeal.

The private memorial service will take place tomorrow at an undisclosed church.  It is speculated that approximately 300 guests will show.  Pol Atteu, who has designed numerous elegant dresses for Smith, will provide the gown that Smith will be buried in.  A source states that the service will be very elaborate, including a beautifully designed casket (that will most likely remain closed), large pink flowers (Anna’s favorite color), and a performance by a well-known singer.  Simpson,  a close friend of Anna, stated “Of course it will be over the top because it’s Anna Nicole” (as reported by Yahoo! News).
